CCRGV Emergency Assistance Program Goals

Assistance

  • Provide Medical Consultation
  • Provide Medical Transportation (medical purposes only)
  • Provide Medical Prescriptions
  • Provide Temporary Shelter (Lodging in a Hotel)
  • Provide Utility Assistance (Hidalgo County) (Starr County) [Light water, gas, and rent]
  • Provide funeral assistance
  • Provide aid for Fire Loss
  • Provide Durable Medical Equipment (DME) when available
  • Provide Tim’s Coats (when available)

Requirements for Assistance

    • Medical Services
      • Medical Consultation (doctor’s visit)
        • Valid Photo ID for all adults in the household
        • Birth certificates & social security cards for all children in the household
        • Doctor’s appointment
        • Proof of income (wages, TANF, Food Stamps, Medicaid/ Medicare, SSI, Unemployment, Child Support)
      • Medical Transportation (appointment must be out of the valley)
        • Valid Photo ID for all adults in the household
        • Birth certificates & social security cards for all children in the household
        • Proof of appointment letter
        • Proof of income (wages, TANF, Food Stamps, Medicaid/ Medicare, SSI, Unemployment, Child Support)
      • Medical Prescriptions (Rx)
          • Valid Photo ID for all adults in the household
          • Birth certificates & social security cards for all children in the household
          • Prescription of refill bottle
          • Proof of income (wages, TANF, Food Stamps, Medicaid/ Medicare, SSI, Unemployment, Child Support)

    • Temporary Shelter
        • Valid Photo ID for all adults in the household
        • Birth certificates & social security cards for all children in the household
        • Eviction notice if available or letter from friend or relative situation

      *****Not based on income but we will not tolerate any type of misbehavior.

    • • Utility assistance

      *****Based on income and emergencies (only)

    • Funeral Assistance
      • Vital statistics or death report from funeral home
      • Valid Photo ID from person seeking the assistance (immediate family member only)
    • A donation of $100.00 is given to the funeral home or cemetery

***** If expenses have already been paid no assistance nor reimbursement is provided. If the person is already buried no assistance will be provided.

  • Fire Loss
    • Valid Photo ID for all adults in the household
    • Birth certificates & social security cards for all children in the household
    • Fire report required, no exceptions (must be in the last 30 days)
    • Assistance is only given if the home was being presently occupied
    • Assistance is provided only if there is no insurance and all other criteria are met.
    • A referral to The American Red Cross is made.
  • Durable Medical Equipment
    • Proof of ID
    • DME is only rendered upon request and if available (such as adults pampers)
  • Tim’s Coats
    • Proof of ID
    • Available during winter time when available
