Counseling Program
You can make a difference in your community
The CCRGV (Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley) Counseling Program is designed to support a wide range of individuals and families through various mental and emotional challenges by providing professional, compassionate care. The program is structured to address specific needs through several key services:
- Short-Term Counseling Services: This service offers therapeutic sessions for individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing mental health issues, relationship problems, or family dynamics that require professional intervention. The counseling is generally short-term, focusing on immediate concerns and providing strategies for managing stress, resolving conflicts, and improving overall emotional health.
-
Support for Women Considering Alternatives to Abortion: A significant part of the counseling program is dedicated to assisting women who are exploring alternatives to abortion. This support includes:
- Counseling: Women can receive one-on-one counseling sessions that provide a safe space to explore their feelings, discuss their options, and receive emotional support during this critical decision-making process.
- Classes: The program offers classes that aim to educate and prepare women for the various aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. These classes are designed to empower women with knowledge and skills that support their choice to continue their pregnancy.
- Resources: In addition to counseling and education, the program provides access to various resources such as maternity clothing, baby supplies, and connections to community services that can assist with healthcare, housing, and financial aid. These resources are intended to reduce the burden on women who choose to carry their pregnancies to term and help them feel supported throughout their journey.
